Happy First Day of Fall!

Today, September 22nd, marks the official start of fall — the autumn equinox. As the days get a little shorter and the air gets crisp here in the Twin Cities, it’s a beautiful time to slow down and enjoy the comfort of home.

At Homestay Services, fall reminds us of what matters most: warmth, togetherness, and supporting independence where it matters most — at home.

Whether you’re sipping cider, watching the leaves turn, or enjoying a quiet evening in, here are a few simple ways to welcome the season safely and comfortably:

1. Cozy & Safe at Home As we start spending more time indoors, it’s a good time to check in on home comfort. Keep walkways clear of fall leaves, add extra light as daylight fades, and keep your favorite warm blanket close by. Small changes make a big difference in staying safe and independent.

2. Seasonal Wellness Fall is a great time for gentle routines — warm soups, short walks to see the colors, and staying hydrated. If you or a loved one needs support with homemaking, personal care, or medication reminders during the seasonal transition, our team is here.

3. Stay Connected Fall is a season of gathering. Call a loved one, share a fall memory, or plan a small family get-together. Community and connection are at the heart of what we do, and they help everyone feel more at home.

As a family-owned provider with 40+ years of combined experience, we’re honored to provide Individualized Home Supports (IHS), respite care, and 24-hour emergency assistance across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

Thank you for being part of our Homestay community. Here’s to a season filled with comfort, gratitude, and care.

Warmly, The Homestay Services Team
